Men's open tournament preview

Sixteen teams in four groups are all set to bring high-octane football to the Soccer7sSeries in the Men's Open.
One of the most eye-catching match-ups sees Vasco da Gama take on Hashtag United in Group A. The game features one of the most storied sides in South American football – with more than 120 years of history – and an English team founded in 2016 by YouTuber Spencer Owen who have gone on to achieve global fame and boast a huge online following.
Joining the pair in Group A will be SHB FC from Vietnam and Albirex Niigata FC (S) from Singapore as the four sides battle it out for two places in the quarter-finals.
The other Brazilian team at the Soccer7sSeries, Corinthians, are placed in an exciting-looking Group D where they will come up against a trio of Asian clubs in Indonesia's PERSIB, Shanghai Shenhua of China and local side COSMO Select.
Former Premier League club Queens Park Rangers will headline Group B where they are joined by Tokyo side Setagaya United, Singapore's Geylang International and Selangor FC of Malaysia.
A cross-Causeway clash between Geylang and Selangor will ensure a Singapore-Malaysia derby at the Soccer7sSeries as the three Asian teams look to challenge a QPR side who lifted the 2024/25 Premier League Cup.
And finally, hosts Singapore FC will also take on an ex-Premier League side in the form of Coventry City in Group C where the two go up against Taichung Rock of Chinese Taipei and Thailand's Ratchaburi FC.
