Leicester City Masters beat a scrappy COSMO Masters 1-0 through Martyn Waghorn's screamer to become the first ever Masters champions of the Soccer7sSeries.

A team featuring five of their legendary Premier League winning side were a cut above in the end to give captain Wes Morgan the chance to lift another trophy.

Previously unbeaten Borussia Dortmund were shocked in extra-time of their semi-final as Singapore's own COSMO Masters won 1-0 courtesy of Sam Taylor's golden goal.

In the Masters Plate, Corinthians Masters lifted the trophy after defeating East London All Stars 2-0, with goals from David Santos da Silva and Edson Adalto Girão.

In the all-Premier League semi, Leicester faced Forest Reds with Robert Huth in an unfamiliar position up front. The German put the Foxes ahead at the end of the first half after Bartosz Białkowski's stunning save landed at his feet. Early in the second half, David Nugent fired home a nice move to put Leicester two up and Forest were never able to get back into it.

In the second semi, underdogs COSMO frustrated Dortmund with dogged play to force a goalless draw and golden goal. After some dramatic back-and-forth, Sam Taylor drove home the golden goal into the side net from a tight angle to stun Dortmund.

In the final, Waghorn broke the deadlock with a super strike from outside the area just two minutes in. Leicester then put a chokehold on the game through the metronome passing of Danny Drinkwater to take the title.

A consolation for COSMO came in the form of Sharples' four goals earning him the golden boot, while Waghorn was named Player of the Tournament.
